The STAR method helps you answer competency-based questions clearly.
Situation: briefly explain the context and challenge.
Task: describe your responsibility or objective.
Action: explain exactly what you personally did rather than speaking only about the team.
Result: present the outcome and, when possible, include a number, improvement or lesson learned.
Prepare at least six examples covering an achievement, difficulty, conflict, pressure, initiative and corrected mistake.
Before the interview, review the vacancy, research the organization and prepare two or three relevant questions. For online interviews, test your connection, camera and microphone.
